Kids and families – A few favourites

One of the greatest joys and challenges of a photographer is capturing kids and families in a natural way. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing many and here are a few of my favourites from recent shoots.

The challenge photographing children, especially younger ones, is to be able to capture their personality and spirit. Generally, this means a combination of interacting with them in a fun way (which usually means me making a bit of a fool of myself!), but also standing back and being invisible while capturing them interacting with their families. It’s one of my greatest pleasures as a photographer to help parents record beautiful memories of their children. I also have the honour to record my own son’s development.
